A Personal Journey Through the Tarot: The Hanged Man

Surender

Surender is not an easy act. We set goals and we work hard to achieve our dreams. When we get knocked down we are encouraged to get right back up again. We fight hard for what we believe is some type of normality.

Sometimes, however, life throws us a curve ball and there is really nothing we can do but accept it as our new reality. Unfortunately this is when we begin to question. Why me? What did I do to deserve this? Why am I being punished? This type of questioning assumes that reality is a personal thing. It is not. There is no blame. Shit happens. Now deal with it. When we remove the personal it becomes easier to adjust to the new circumstance. Adapting and evolving is what makes humans the most successful species on the planet.

Today I draw The Hanged Man and reflect upon accepting that which can not be changed. How can I rearrange my resources to meet the new reality? Where do I need help and who do I ask? What needs to be adjusted so I can survive and hopefully thrive in this new situation?
