A Personal Journey Through the Tarot: The Emperor

Bringing Order to Chaos

Order and Chaos go hand in hand. They are two sides of the same coin.  You can not have one without the other. 

In the Tarot the Empress is Chaos and the Emperor is Order. They make the perfect pair.

Life expands its diversity through chaos always making new combinations, growing, dying and changing. 

Humans thrive by harnessing that chaos and applying order. When we left a nomadic lifestyle and started farming we finally had more than enough to begin increasing our population. We organize our lives in cities, we organize our social obligations with laws, we organize our trade through finance, and we organize our organizing through politics.  The Emperor is a symbol of this organizing activity. 

In readings the Emperor is the King of kings and the ultimate husband. His energy brings order to systems which help them thrive and flourish.  He is the one that takes the raw chaotic material and shapes it into a productive system. 

Today I draw the Emperor and reflect upon taking control of my life once again. Managing resources like time, money and enthusiasm and focusing them toward my personal vision.
